Getting the new school year right in a community school
The short answer
A new school year is prepared in four stages: open enrolment, form the groups, collect payment, then start the sessions. Each stage matches a module, and what is entered at the first serves the other three.
How the year opens
Four stages, in this order.
- Prepare your offer — Set up your levels, subjects, subject packs, member discounts, rooms and time slots — next year's offer, ready for enrolment.
- Open online enrolment — Families enrol through the public flow: choice of students and subjects, time slots, legal guardian, summary and membership payment.
- Allocate and manage the waiting list — Groups fill up within their capacity limit; students waiting for a spot stay on the waiting list, unbilled, until a slot opens up.
- Run the year — Session roll call, grades by sub-skill and report cards, instalment payments tracked, communication with families through the bilingual app.
